So, Jason and I finally got the new deck sealed, and in order to do this we had to pull up one sunflower plant that was right next to the deck. Well, I had been wanting to cut some to put in a vase in the house and now I had the perfect reason. So, cut them, gave them a good shake (to get rid of bugs) and put them in my favorite redware pitcher. Beautiful!!
Well, next day, I see a few aphids on the table and then later....more aphids....then more aphids. They were ALL OVER the sunflower leaves!! Ruth said we needed to bring in a praying mantis but we couldn't find one. Sooooo, out go my beautiful sunflowers but they did look pretty on the new deck table. :-)
